Many commercial companies offer a glimpse into the inner workings of your microbial inhabitants through the use of at-home testing kits while countless others present opportunities to shift the microbial balance in one\u2019s favor through the use of probiotics, prebiotics, synbiotics, phages, helminths, quorum sensing inhibitors, immune modulators, skin creams, body washes, vaginal suppositories, and more. However, our enthusiasm to learn and tweak our microbial communities should be tempered with caution and humility concerning how much remains unknown.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 id=\"b4c2\" class=\"qf qg ir bf qh qi qj jn gk qk ql jq gm qm qn qo qp qq qr qs qt qu qv qw qx qy bk\"><span style=\"color: #999999;\">The compositions of gut microbial communities are highly variable across populations<\/span><\/h4>\n<p id=\"fe24\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph pd pe ir pf b jl qz ph pi jo ra pk pl gn rb pn po gq rc pq pr gt rd pt pu pv hn bk\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\"><span style=\"color: #999999;\">When it comes to composition, there is no one healthy reference human microbiome.
